Northern Queensland

InterMet has rapidly built up an impressive project portfolio in northern Queensland, ranging from grassroots exploration within areas of highly prospective geology to advanced projects over outcropping mineralisation.

InterMet’s northern Queensland exploration programmes are targeting iron, gold, copper, base metals and tin-tungsten mineralisation.

InterMet is currently establishing an Exploration Office in Mareeba to service work in northern Queensland.

South Australia

InterMet Resources maintains a strong presence in South Australia, activily exploring on the Gawler Craton and within the Adelaide Fold Belt for a wide range of commodities and mineralisation styles.

The Gawler Craton hosts iron oxide-copper-gold-uranium (IOCGU) deposits as seen at Olympic Dam and Prominent Hill, as well as emerging projects such as at Carrapateena, The Gawler Cration also hosts Archaean Gold deposits such as at the Challenger Gold Mine.

The Gawler Craton also contains major palaeodrainage networks which drained uranium bearing basement rocks while the Eucla Basin hosts proven and potential mineral sands prospects..

The Adelaide Fold Belt (Adelaide Geosyncline) has a long and proven history of mineral deposits and mining dating back to the 1800’s. The Burra, Kupunda and Blinman copper mines are historically significant to the development of the South Australian mining industry and projects such as the lead-zinc mine at Beltana and Aroona highlight the continuing prospectivity of the Adelaide Fold Belt

Mineralisation styles including porphyry-related skarn copper and gold, sediment hosted copper, shale-hosted lead-zinc and vein gold offer the potential for copper, gold, lead and zinc deposits throughout the belt.
